在服事主之人身上，讀經是一件太重大的事。聖經要讀得好，不僅人要對，方法也要對。人若帶著天然觀念，憑著頭腦、理智讀經，就像帶著一副有色眼鏡看東西，最多只是得著知識，明白道理，卻讀不出聖經的本色。聖經惟一中心的啟示，乃是神來作人的生命，要人憑這生命活在祂面前，並憑這生命生長，至終這生命要叫人活出新耶路撒冷那榮耀、尊貴的光景。因此，讀經的人必須棄絕自己的天然觀念，用靈碰觸聖經的話，吸取神，享受神，得著神生命的餧養，看見聖經所啟示關於生命與生活的中心路線。這樣的讀經，纔有真實屬靈的益處。

本書係李常受弟兄於一九五八年三月，在全臺同工聚會及臺北召會家負責聚會中所釋放的信息集成。
