聖經啟示主已經成功救贖，藉著死而復活，成了賜生命的靈，活在我們靈裏，使我們能憑祂活著，與祂一同生活。然而，大部分聖徒屬靈的生活都是人工『作』出來的，不是靈中『活』出來的。因此，主渴望恢復我們對靈的經歷，使我們能實際的憑靈而活。換言之，主今日時代的流，乃是人人活在靈中，活出主來。為此，基督徒的生活、聚會與事奉，都應當出於靈，照著靈。至終，眾人在靈裏如同一人，活出一個身體的見證；這纔是主所要的。

本書係李常受弟兄於一九七五年八月二十七至三十日，在臺北與遠東地區同工、長老們的交通集成。
