聖經中有七個重大的奧祕：神、宇宙、人、基督、那靈、召會和未來。要看見這些奧祕，不能倚靠哲學或宗教，必須得著神聖的啟示。人有了啟示，就不至於活在迷宮裏，而能有清明的天，看見神永遠定旨的中心焦點乃是基督和祂的身體─召會。

神為了完成祂的定旨，為基督得著一個身體，需要完成四件事：使人成為聖別、使人得著兒子的名分、將眾子構成身體、並將萬有在基督裏歸一於一個元首之下。聖別是為著兒子的名分，兒子的名分是為著身體，而身體使神得著團體的彰顯。神完成祂定旨的計畫─祂的經綸，乃是藉著將祂自己這神聖的靈與人的靈調和成一靈。因此，基督徒惟有照調和的靈生活行事，纔能使神的定旨得以成就。

本書係李常受弟兄於一九七八年四月和五月，在美國加州安那翰所釋放的信息集成。
