本書係李常受弟兄於一九六三、六五、六九年夏天，在美國加州洛杉磯所釋放的信息集成；其中對於我們人的靈這一基本的真理，有清楚的陳明。這個真理已經被大部分的基督徒失去；並且幾乎所有對此有所看見的人，都忽略這事。很少人認識我們人的靈的重要性。

聖經啟示人有三部分靈、魂與身體。身體托住一個人，能接觸物質的世界；魂是一個人的個格，就是他的己，能作推理、選擇，並有情緒反應；神是靈，也給人造靈，所以人有神的知覺，能彀接觸、接受、並敬拜神。

我們乃是在靈裏得重生，被點活，有神的內住，與主聯合；現今我們必須照著靈行事為人，在靈裏禱告，在靈裏被充滿，看見神的啟示，享受基督的新鮮、甜美、點活和供應，在靈裏與弟兄姊妹有交通，並與別人同被建造，成為神在靈裏的居所。
