許多信徒對基督歷史的頭一個時期，就是成肉體時期，都略有認識，但對第二、第三個時期，卻所知不多。本書清楚陳明基督所是之歷史的三個時期：（一）成肉體－基督在肉體裏的時期，產生蒙救贖的人；（二）總括－基督成為賜生命之靈的時期，產生眾召會；（三）加強－基督成為七倍加強、賜生命之靈的時期，產生得勝者，建造基督的身體。

書中啟示的真理亮光，帶領我們審視我們的生活與工作，不能只停留在帶人得救並建立眾召會的階段；更需要往前，經歷主七倍加強的靈，勝過召會的墮落，建造基督的身體，以完成新耶路撒冷，達到神經綸的終極目標。

本書是由李常受弟兄於一九九六年四月及六月在美國加州安那翰所釋放的信息集成。
