到了新約，父懷裏的獨生子雖然將神表明出來，卻是隱藏在一個卑微的人裏；門徒對祂似識不識，似悟不悟。主復活之後，訓練往以馬忤斯路上的兩個門徒，叫他們認識：祂是在人中間，卻不給人看見；祂是在人裏面，隱藏的作工、行事。
