全書共八章，前六章為倪柝聲弟兄一九三一年講於上海的信息，後二章為李常受弟兄一九四九年講於同地的信息。二位主僕的話語職事，如出一轍，發自與人立約之神的心坎，導引新約的承受者進入新約的福分，過新約的生活，而達於神心意的完成。
