福音故事，能使所傳的福音更為生動，更為透徹，更為深入人心；所以大佈道家慕迪說，一篇福音講臺，若無故事相助，好像一座洋房，沒有窗戶一般。鄭大強、張郁嵐、林元度三位弟兄，基於此一信念，特為先後收集、編寫了『福音故事』、『福音故事續編』二書。歷經半世紀的流傳，廣為傳福音者所寶愛，也為造就初信者所必備。其中的故事，多是父神啟示祂的眾僕人的；在歷世歷代，各國各方中，曾屢被使用，拯救了無數靈魂。臺灣福音書房有鑑於此，將該二書以更容易閱讀之方式，重新編排印製。內容上，除關於天堂地獄之部分，為免讀者有錯誤的領會，將之刪去外，其餘僅作微幅修訂。全書分為上、中、下三冊。

福音故事下冊內容分為生命、復活、悔改、相信、得救、改變、傳福音、決定等八類，以生動的福音故事，將復活和生命之事引證出來，也陳明了人必須藉悔改、相信，而能有得救的喜樂及生命的改變，並述說了無數傳福音者的能力，和人如何作明智之決定，以接受救恩之途徑。乃為提供福音講臺，個人證道，以及向兒童宣講故事之極佳材料。
